The American Museum - Claverton Manor, Bath

5th and 6th July 2008

The unit took its own cannon for the first time in participating in a UK event.  All went well despite the weather which tried its best to dampen the proceedings.  Kevin, Ian and Darren handled the van with the cannon and equipment and we were soon set up at Claverton with Terry's tent erecting skills brought to the fore. The infantry fell in with the 47th and 22nd Foot for drill whilst the artillery set up their two cannon.  The Crown Forces, who organised the whole event, had their Guards on display supported by the Queen's Devon Rangers.  Held over two days the crowds were small because of the weather but those who came were treated to displays of the soldiers' skill at marching and at arms complemented with displays of artillery drill and cannon fire.

The ladies were in the tent with their displays of lace, lavender favours and period items.  It was a great weekend spent in good company and the first of many we hope.

Thanks to Sue Mould for helping out with taking photographs.
